Advent Sponsored Walk

At the end of September, we unfortunately had to remove a tree from the garden of the Church of the Holy Ghost in Genoa. A large branch had already fallen and damaged a car, and it was only a matter of time before something worse happened—possibly in the busy supermarket car park right in front of the church. For safety reasons, we had no choice. But the bill of £3,030 (3,500 euros) has hit our already limited church finances quite hard.
To help cover the cost, I’ve decided to undertake a sponsored walk around Genoa’s historic ring of mountain forts. The route is about 30 km and involves many ups and downs. As I walk, I also hope to create a symbolic circle of prayer around the city: a pilgrimage that blesses both the people of Genoa and our small Anglican chaplaincy.
The walk will take place over three days during Advent, in December, with dates depending on both the weather forecast and my availability.
