Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, 2026, Genoa
These are the words representing the mission of this year’s “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” inspired by the Armenian Apostolic Church. As we are all one in Christ, no matter the tradition, we are all united in our shared baptism and faith in Jesus Christ. This week has brought open dialogue and shared prayers as one Christian Church.

In Genoa, this sentiment was very present. Our congregation participated in two events held by the Christian churches of the city. Throughout these events, most notably our Chaplain, the Reverend Robert Morley, was honored to give the sermon at the Cathedral of Saint Lorenzo. We as Anglicans in Genoa see this as a great honor for our Chaplain to take the pulpit in the most important Roman Catholic church in the Liguria region. Our Chaplain highlighted our unity through our one baptism and our confession of Jesus.

This event brought together believers from all traditions: Anglican, Methodist, Roman Catholic, Reformed, Orthodox, and many more. As we look back in time when we were once divided by wars and hatred, we left united. United in one baptism. United in the Body of Christ.
