About Father Robert
Revd. Robert Rushforth Morley was born in Cornwall, in 1958. He was educated at Blundell’s School and at the Universities of Kent and Bath Spa. He has a B.A. in Philosophy and Law, and M.A.s in Applied Linguistics and Creative Writing. He has been teaching EFL for forty years, mostly in Italy, but also in the Crimea, Moscow, Hong Kong and Cairo. Since 1990 he has been
teaching at the University of Pavia. He has published a novel, The Gift of Honey (2012), and a volume of poetry Moon’s Yard (2020). Since ordination (as deacon, Rome, Sept 2020; as priest, Milan, July 2021) he has served as Assistant Curate at All Saints, Milan, and as seasonal chaplain to the Church of the Ascension, Cadenabbia on Lake Como, during the summers of 2021, 2023, and 2024. He is married to Laura Grimoldi, and has a daughter, Valeria.
